Looking For an Animal Crossing: Wild World Friend!

November 14, 2008

animal-crossing-wild-world-200603230910329031Today I was able to hook up my Nintendo DS to a Wi-Fi connection and I’m looking for friends to play with. I’m really excited because I need help in Animal Crossing: Wild World. Someone has to shop at my Nook store so it can upgrade to the next model. Please drop me a line if you can help!

Come, visit Oakvale and its pleasant residents. It’s November and the air is crisp. There are a variety of trees to shake, bearing either peaches, cherries, apples or coconuts.

Not that Bells are hard to come by, but I’m offering 100,000 to whoever helps me.

Games for Girls? FOH.

August 11, 2008

While browsing the Nintendo section of our local Blockbuster last Friday night, my boyfriend and I came across a small section called Games for Girls. I was appalled by the pink shelving, the games chosen just for us, and even the young girl with her cute little braids and pink DS.

The last time I checked, I’m a girl and I enjoy shooting aliens, terrorists, and general scum. My DS is a sleek and sexy black one.

I frown upon this kind of marketing and separation because it might stop a girl who’s new to gaming from exploring different genres.  Don’t believe the idea that there is nothing ladylike about headshots, fragging, or aggressive magic.

And not only that, why can’t boys play those games? Why should a boy have to shy away from the Games for Girls section, even though he is really interested in humming along with the songs from High School Musical? (Here’s to you, nephew).

I’m all for being treated equally when it comes to gaming.  I’m just a gamer, not a gamer-girl or vice versa.  Gender should have absolutely nothing to do with the kinds of games you like to play.

Chrono Trigger for DS Trailer + 1 New RPG This Fall

July 7, 2008

When Lost Odyssey came out and my boyfriend and I were playing it, we would have little playful arguments about who was the RPG “master.” He would often throw in my face the fact that I’ve never played Final Fantasy VII, Chrono Trigger, or Xenogears. Well, it won’t be that way for long! Chrono Trigger is coming to the Nintendo DS and I will finally get to play it.

Vodpod videos no longer available.

And not only that, but another RPG will be debuting this fall on the DS as well, Away Shuffle Dungeon, by Mistwalker (the same folks that brought us Lost Odyssey) and Majesco. Guess who else will be part of the project – Nobuo Uematsu!

Now all I need is for FFVII and Xenogears to hit PSN. I need some kind of RPG to play on the PS3!
